My therapist dropped the ball on my care after my old one got a new job. It took a month to get into her. Saw her once then had to go another month without care before I could see her. That typical "all booked up" BS.
I asked her to find me a nee therapist and said I don't think it's working out. Told her it's not personal. I was very professional and polite and realised why I have not slept well the past six months. I just needed someone to talk to that fucking listened and showed they cared. Yeet! I fired her and put a call into my case worker to see if he can call there or elsewhere to find me someone who won't create a quality of care issue like this one I just said goodbye to.
Today I yeeted that "friend" who stopped taking my calls, stopped messaging me, but continued to re-post whatever came up in her doomscroll. My now ex-friend even "liked" one of my FB posts but could not be bothered to ask me if I was OK after I called her and left a message saying I needed someone to talk to. She reaped what she sowed. I won't miss her. Too bad, so sad for her. Next!
@MordantCarnival Thank you for your empathy, it means a lot to me.
Unnecessary drama rarely yields a healing result - for anyone.
I hope you find a therapist who is a really good fit!🌸
@ATXJane Thank you, and better friends since the one ex-friend I mentioned has been too lazy to bother with me. Idealize, devalue, then oops -- I discarded her before she had a chance. And if she sends me a lunacy letter, I'll just use it for story fodder like the others. I suspect now she's a covert narc, just wish I figured it out before.
I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s embarrassing to my profession and it’s negligent to you. It makes me cringe knowing you were treated this way.
You deserve better. Remember you’re hiring the therapist. They work for you. Same with doctors, plumbers, accountants, etc.
I hope you get it sorted out & can work with someone who is really invested and who is a good fit for you.
🌸
@ATXJane Thank you so much. That means a lot to me!
@JeniRizio i feel ya! My old one went via telehealth and I can't stand that. I had to get a new one and I have to a month as well. Sucks.
@tw33k Thank you. I like telehealth with the option to see them in person should I need it. I hear ya. Some people need to see someone in person, esp if they don't have access to privacy at home.
@JeniRizio @tw33k Getting the right therapist can be a journey. Well worth the effort but it does take a lot of time to “sift” through. (((💙))) for you and privacy
@ACG2 @tw33k my god yes! And my last one was awesome! I was under the impression that she had trained the therapists on trauma before she had left to start the new mental health respite center. I guess not. I said I was going to call her and my now ex-therapist said she was no longer with the company! I asked where she went, x-therapist goes "I dunno." I said, oh, like in radio when people change markets, she's like "no, I really don't know where she went." SMH
@JeniRizio @tw33k Y…Google and linked in searches are really good to find people who have moved jobs.
@ACG2 @tw33k Google yielded no results. I dumped my LinkedIn account because I find it useless. Yet they want you to create an account now in order to search. I say yeah…no. I emailed her about the quality of care concerns and surprising it did not bounce back. :) So either she's still there and pet store ex-parroty of a therapist lied to cover her bum, or someone else in mgmt will read the email. Either way, progress
@JeniRizio @ACG2 love the Python reference. LoL!! Sorry to hear though.
After I saw her again, didn't she tell me she was going on vacation for a month! Wow, another month without care. Mind you I see her every two weeks, down from seeing someone every week due to severe PTSD
