If you use a password manager (and you should), which is your preference? Mac-centric, sorry.

@OfficialPopeOfWokeism Not a bad option. I included it in my initial evaluations but it wasn't as feature-rich as the others. Priced better, though.

@Jeber I was on lastpass until they started removing features from the free accounts and making them worse. Bitwarden is probably a bit better than lastpass and you can even run your own instance I think.

I can't be brought to pay for a password manager. I think I'd probably write my own first.

@Jeber
I don't use one, but I'm interested in knowing which is preferable.

@Jeber

I've used LastPass for years and have been pretty happy with it.

However, for Reasons, Good Ones, I've been wanting to get a standalone hardware-based password manager, and I've found a good one, the Mooltipass BLE.

Been using it for a couple of months, the first unit they sent me was quirky, but tech support was terrific and they shipped me a replacement after we'd collectively fiddled with things a bit.

@mcfate I'm going to read more about that. It's one I haven't heard of before. It looks like a combo pwd mgr and FIDO key. Thanks for mentioning that.

@Jeber

I've had my eye on that project for a while. There are some other devices out there, but I'm picky about form factors. It has to appeal to me.

@Jeber

And I can definitely vouch for the good intentions of the engineering team.

@Jeber I will add that while I use 1Password, I’m on my way off and probably going to go to the Apple keychain/iCloud
Ever since 1Password dropped support for standalone vaults in the latest version the writing is pretty much on the wall for them at least as far as I’m concerned

@Jeber

i'm cross platform and non cloud, so use:

KeePassX
KeePassXC (does TOTP)
Keepass2Android Offline

and also have an OnlyKey

i'm kind of a weirdo...

the CoSoSec folks here seem to like bitwarden, but I'll let them chime in...

@Jeber I've been using dropbox password manager. LastPass before that. Since I have just about everything else in Dropbox I might as well go all in.

That said, it's been working fine with Safari, Chrome, and Firefox (my defualt browser). And it works great on iOS as well.

@Jeber Been using Apple Keychain across Mac and iOS for years and it's worked well.

@scottlink It is but I just listed the top 3 that I hear Mac users talking about the most.

@Jeber I suspect the other two are a little more user friendly and are more interoperable with Winderz. I wish it were more front and center as an app on iOS.

@Jeber I used 1Password for a while, but since I’m all in on the Mac ecosystem the keychain just makes so much more sense
