@JazzCrafter I strongly disagree with your assessment of modern education though it will vary quite a bit from state to state. Like any institution, a school system is only as good as the people who work there.
@danielbsmith Point 3: In my educational experience in the last half of the 20th century in a major city.. the schools were 100% SEGREGATED according to race/ethnicity (no Jews allowed, either, btw) there was NO where where teacher staff or board or press or materials talked about anything else but the "civilized" whiteman .. in science. history. mathematics. music. art. hecks.. EVEN Phys Ed and home economics!! Tell me that is OK..
