I probably gave her shitty advice, but a strange friend of mine asked me my opinion on whether or not she should accept the offer of a slate mine in Oslo, Norway for $1 and I told her NOT to take it.
It hasn't been in use in decades, and she knows nothing about mining.
Sure she'd own a mine in Norway, but what about taxes and whatnot? How about the restrictions regarding mining in the historic Oslo district?
Sounds WAY too hinky to me...
@JasonCrocker616 You gave impeccable advice. There are three bits of folk wisdom that apply here:
*If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
*If you don't know what it is, don't mess with it.
*(Since it's not only Norway but a mine in Norway) Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
@JasonCrocker616 I advised my friend mike to quit his new job. He was going to return to being a commercial pilot. Starting pay ,$150k with a $75k sign on bonus. The training was causing him too much stress and anxiety and you can't even mention any type of mental health issues as a pilot without getting fired immediately.
He's back home in Colorado now and taking antidepressants. Better to be broke than be broken.
@Excal2mark agreed!
@JasonCrocker616 Wow! Yes, she could find herself legally responsible for environment actions and all kinds of things.
