@naikarrah sorry, my wife always tells me not to do this, but I am compelled to respectfully correct that statement.
A coup by definition isn't military, but it can be. It's just an illegal or forceful action in politics that results in a change of government.

fair point! i concede that is certainly a common usage definition. i shuold have clarified that i was strictly going by political science definition, "a coup attempt involves an illegal, overt effort by civilian or military elites to remove a sitting executive from power."
"most coup attempts are carried out with very little bloodshed, the threat of violence underlies all coups. It is that threat that distinguishes coups from voluntary resignations & other peaceful transfers of power."

tbh, it's that 'or civilian force' that i'm finding very disturbing right now...
all of my opinions are exactly that, my random opinions. i am not always right, and hope to always be the sort who will bow humbly admit when i am wrong. i may still be wrong in my defining of 'coup', but look forward to a happy banter regardless! 💗
