So I am getting breakfast this morning by myself for Veterans Day. Wanted some peace and quiet.
I instead found a place that has a bunch of Vietnam vets talking to each other.
Hearing these convos might break me and reminds me why I don't join the VFW, American Legion, etc.
- the usual political talk (whatever this don't bother me
- talk about the Afghanistan veterans are worthless because at least the Vietnam vets waited until everyone was out to leave πππ
@Hobyrim Morning π Take a deep breath and think of something happy and calm π€ β€οΈ
@Mandypar You can't be a vet without hearing right wing talk and being used to it and/or developing thick skin
NGL hearing a group of vets who knew what it was like when people trashed the troops who fought an unpopular war, then trash the troops who just got done fighting an unpopular war makes me a bit more sad than I would have thought this morning.
I can't explain it but that's what bothering me more than all the rest. Gonna drink more coffee and see if I can articulate this later.
SOMEONE needs to ask them to explain who "Brandon" is.
@Hobyrim most of these SOBs who talk like this are one-term vets...they still don't get what Service to Nation is about.
@Hobyrim
I'm so sorry you had to hear all that.
Oof. As though soldiers literally everywhere don't go where they're told to, when they're told to.
^^^Β°
- how the media didn't tell the real story about Vietnam (whatever, again no big deal)
- how the vaccine is garbage and this is no big deal (about 15 minutes later, how one of their friends died from COVID-19 during the pandemic)
- why this generation is lazy and doesn't want to work
- A let's go Brandon chant ππππππ
- Yes in the middle of a restaurant at
breakfast
I wish I had a talking points bingo card right now.
