CoSo plant people😁I've been pulling what I think are weeds/ivy in yard. What is this please? Is any of it poison ivy?I honestly don't know a plant from a weed; if it's in my way, I clear it.

Got stuck after sitting to rest on a small brick flower bed wall. Ugh; played it off by pulling weeds near me & enjoying sunshine until hubs came out 30 mins later. He was upset w/me😁because he'd told me to stop in the first place. I'm determined to get backyard in shape although I'm not an outdoor type😂

@Gramdma2011 that’s not poison ivy so phew!!🙂🤣 First pic looks like a small tree seedling from a fallen acorn or something. Second two pics look like ivy. I think you’re okay pulling it.🙂 Take your time. Rest when you need to!

@catie Thank you & I will. My mind still thinks I can do whatever I want, my body says no no no!🤣

@Gramdma2011 😁
Looks like ivy & violets. Not sure what that little tree is.

@flygande_ren Violets! I like violets! Must stop pulling those; need color (other than green & brown) in yard. Lol; I am so horrible at plants! I think I'll use the time to learn to grow instead of yanking everything that isn't grass😬

@Gramdma2011
I'm not seeing poison ivy in your pictures, yay! Working clockwise, I think you've got Chinese privet (maybe? not sure. It looks like it might be a young sprout?) then you've got English Ivy growing with what I think might be a wild ginger (?) with the heart-shaped leaves, and then bottom right is definitely English Ivy.

I pull up English Ivy whenever i see it, it is terribly invasive, and can kill trees.

@Gramdma2011
Oh, and you've got some little wild strawberries too. They're harmless, and kind of cute.

@janallmac 😮🤦I'm a multi-plant killer. Must definitely read up on this type stuff. Ugh; should have listened to my Grandma more; she was a plant, yard, & garden savvy. Roses, tomatoes, peach & plum trees, grapevine; she grew them all.

Well, I can't say I don't have time to learn anymore; plenty of time on my hands now!

@janallmac Ok. I think I know all the ivy; roots running across ground that I pull up until entire 'thread' gone. Usually will see roots. They are growing up trees; I pull off as I can reach. Thanks; by replies, I'm seeing there's bunches of stuff out there! 🤔Is there an app or picture site to tell ya if it's plant or weed? Have a feeling I'll be a gardener before lockdown lifts😂

@Gramdma2011
I’m not an expert but I do know poison ivy and none of this is. It looks like English ivy and morning glory. The tree like plant looks familiar but I don’t remember what it is called. Pace yourself friend. 😎

@Gramdma2011
Actually the third plant looks a lot like sala.

@Gramdma2011
That thing with the heart-shaped leaves? Might be garlic mustard. (I had to reasearch, b/c I didn't know!) Website says it is not poisonous, but a bit invasive: sierraclub.org/maryland/blog/2

@janallmac I have a lot of plant species! I gotta research more I guess to know what to pull & what to leave! Grass gets cut, but weeding has been neglected due to tree branches & twigs everywhere ;neighbor cuts trees & grass; hubs hard to motivate & when he is, yanks every thing in sight up worse than I do & I can't stop him until he wears himself out! We're both like that I guess; once I decide to clear a spot...😂

@Gramdma2011
My philosophy is always pull up the English Ivy, and Kudzu too, if you have it. Everything else is negotiable! 😂

It's good exercise, though, and you'll enjoy your cleared spot once you're done, I'm sure.

@Gramdma2011 "Leaves of three, let it be."
I'm immune to poison ivy and poison oak. But not regular oak. Go figure.
As poison oak grows it turns from green to a reddish brown. Ivy, not sure. Both have leaves of three. Easy way to stay out of trouble.

@DachshundSaidSo 🤦I just remembered now that my Grandma used to sing that in the yard!
