Lordy 8 hours of slow cooker. I suppose you'd have soaked them first? I would do a parboil and let them soak in the hot water overnight, I've had that happen years ago but that's why I always pressure cooker now. I don't have to think about it a day ahead. Dry unsoaked pintos in a pressure cooker are 45 minutes. (8 hrs would turn them into bean sauce 😆)
