If you can't put solar panels on your own home, you can join a cooperative to finance solar on other buildings. Here's one in Pennsylvania. You don't have to depend on Republicans to start caring about climate change.
Of course if you ARE putting it on your own home, you want to research the company. Some leases expect you to pay monthly even if the array stops working and the company that owns it doesn't keep up with maintenance, so you aren't getting any power for your money.
From what I have heard “Sunrun” has a very good rep. In the areas it serves.
