I'm no fan, but I have questions about how the study was conducted. They don't specify whether the tablets contained lactose, which some lactobacillus products do. Most Chinese people are lactose intolerant. If both the placebo and active tablets contained lactose (or other undigestible sugars like xylitol), they would have acted as a laxative, so they wouldn't have been testing the effect of the bacteria at all.
