Going to add the Bellingcat analysis here as well, since it seems relevant.
If you think I'm furious, you are correct. My first donation to WCK went through a fund for Haiti. My Hurricane Harvey donation was direct. I run FB fundraisers for WCK on my birthday.
These people only wanted to feed hungry people, FFS.
The Guardian article:
@Cosmichomicide It's heartbreaking.
I swear I should be getting over it, but I follow WCK, The Carter Center, and (I forgot this one earlier) the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust religiously, appreciate the exceptional work they do, and generally love everything my donations are spent on.
I'm fucking crushed. And I bet not a single HUMAN working for WCK regrets a single meal they served to Israelis and the IDF.
They are better people than I will ever be.
@Cosmichomicide They're there for everyone,impartial.
How can you not love people who mobilize to FEED people, no matter the reason? I mean, this is really what it is all about, isn't it?
Yeah, I'm kind of a wreck over this. Apologies.
@Cosmichomicide Absolutely no need to apologise,better getting it out than internalising it.
@Cosmichomicide I donate to them monthly. Will increase my donation.
Yup. We already did. Mr. Cosmic and Cosmic Jr came to talk to me about it - 30 minutes after I'd done it.
@Cosmichomicide I just gave my 93rd unit of blood. Almost got deferred because I couldn’t get my pulse down low enough after spending the afternoon infuriated over this WCK tragedy.
@Cosmichomicide Unintended? Not sure I believe that.
Yeah. Kind of strains credibility, doesn't it?
Three times. I'm with The Gay Guy Candle Co.
Yes, I often do one unintended thing and then immediately follow it with another couple of unintended things, you know, for emphasis that it was entirely unintended.
