Serious question:
What would you tell a very worried 22 year old women, that keeps up with political news, and is absolutely terrified that Trump will win and all that will entail. She is smart, well read, and a pretty good independent thinker. She doesn't want to run to another country, and she wants no part of a violent resistance. She puts the odds at 70/30 that Trump will lose.... But that 30% is freaking her out.
You can't predict the future.
But you can prepare for it.
Was my response.

That's a tough question, one that pertains to us all, and I love your answer!
At that age, perspective is difficult, and it's hard to assess the extent of possible changes. At this point, it's hard for any of us.
I look to history for examples of nonviolent resistance to oppression. US black history is full of examples close to home.
Practice self-care, live your life, and be prepared to adapt.
I've found I truly believe in the goodness of others, and that will be our strength.

Thanks.
That's more less what I told her. She really is frightened. She did say that in quite moments with her girl friends, they all talk about this fear, it is pretty wide spread on college campuses.
