Haven't seen too many squirrels where we are now living! Way too many predators I guess! 😢
@Spagesgallo1 they do blend into their surroundings well. Look for their dreys (nests) in trees - you may have more than you think.
Oh, okay! Will do! I love squirrels! We had a pair that used to visit us almost daily where we used to live. One was chunky and it's tail looked like a rabbit's tail. We called him Wabbit. The other one had a tail that had very little fur. We called him Squiggy. They were always together. So darling! Our next door neighbor was Italian. Elderly man. He used to leave a plate of pasta with marinara sauce for the critters to eat!
A visiting nurse told my DIL that their squirrels were fat. Wonder if the daily feeding of peanuts in the shell are responsible?
@LnzyHou pizza and Nestflix. We've had some frequent flyers in the Winter would dine in rather than carry out for storage. I backed off on amounts - Summer is approaching and they need to hunt. When it was super cold and or snowy I'd put out more for birds and squirrels. What you see there, though, is a stale Costco croissant the Mrs. put out.
Killing them with kindness. We don’t want diabetic squirrels.
@LnzyHou very few squirrels have premium insurance to handle diabetes.
my squirrels are still chunky when they'd normally be thin this time of year. it's the peanuts and the BOSS. i'm currently cutting back. they need to spread out.
My DIL’s squirrels have to battle a blue jay who sits in a tree then zooms in & steals the peanuts. Never even lands.
i've got Blue Jays too. same story. i have a large spring circle feeder that holds peanuts, which i hang in various places. Jays usually see it first, then there's a battle of wits and dexterity to empty it.

My DIL’s mother almost 100 yrs old hand feeds them every day. It’s her joy.
it is a joy that i hope to continue until death. if i were to die out there and not be found for a month or so, i'd be happy with thst👌🏽
