@MLClark he reads fish Sartre “Eeling and Nofishness”.
@MLClark 😂
@MLClark addendum, the existential pig goes “ennui, ennui, ennui all the way home”.
Hot damn, we should write a Mother Goose's Childhood Treasury of Bedtime Stories for the Budding Existentialist. :)
(Humpty Dumpty can stay as is! But the rest might need some tweaking.)
@MLClark seriously, given the potential dystopias child today face having stories for meaning in life regardless of circumstance or environment would be a public service. In the US kids are acutely aware that having a better quality of life financially than their parents is elusive. Having an age appropriate philosophical toolbox is a need. I informally did that is raising my child, but in retrospect and with experience I see more opportunities for heuristics.
that's an excellent idea. i do hope it happens. it would be a glorious addition to the HHG as reading material for Marvin. i'd love to see an episode with him quoting from it.
Have you read Duck, Death, and the Tulip?
It's one of the loveliest books for normalizing the concept of memento mori for... well, children, sure, but also anyone.
(Our Mother Goose Treasury would have more rhyme schemes, of course. 😉)
i haven't, but i'll check it out.
@CanisPundit
🤣 The ennui of a catfish is not to be taken lightly!
