I've seen some commentary about trump, specifically (theoretically) that he can gain the R nomination, win the general, and take the presidency WHILE INCARCERATED. Does anybody know if that's true?...again, theoretically. I'd love to hear Jamie Raskin or Adam Schiff react to the question.

@celticsfanaticentomologist yes per University of California, Los Angeles law professor Richard L. Hasen. There is no Constitutional restriction. Eugene V. Debs ran for President in 1920 while incarcerated.

@CanisPundit @celticsfanaticentomologist Be funny if, like Mr. Debs, (rest his soul), Trump only gets 5% of the vote. ; )

@AskTheDevil @CanisPundit Actually, my point is that trump treated a lot of things while he was the officeholder as legal for him to do or not do if they weren't specifically allowed or disallowed. Those things that are norms or traditions or generally accepted moral expectations, not backed up by laws, can be ignored. That seems to be at least part of the trump MO.

@AskTheDevil @CanisPundit Example...pulling out of NATO. (my head exploding at the thought)

@celticsfanaticentomologist @CanisPundit I'd hate for Trump to know that I might have popped a blood vessel in my eye and spit-took a mouthful of hot coffee when I first heard him float that.

@CanisPundit OK. That sounds authoritative. Kind of what I was starting to think.

@celticsfanaticentomologist once I get my time machine operational I'll visit the Constitutional convention and share a few ideas.
