Not my personal photo but this is from my hometown This is the Blockbarn in Cuba New York. Back in the '90s my father and I we're in the volunteer fire department and we sponsored the Budweiser Clydesdales for our June Dairy week celebration with the fire department and this is where they stayed That was a hell of a fun time let me tell you

@Bliss um, no I make it a habit of making up places on Sunday nights - it's a great hobby lol - yes it's a place - Cuba Lake is 1 of the largest manmade lakes in USA...

@duglop 😅 sorry, since I never heard of it I had to google and learn about it.

@Bliss hey no worries, was just having innocent fun my friend!!! There's also a Cuba New Mexico and a couple more as well in the USA

@duglop

My initial thought was, why would someone name a town after a tropical island. I saw it was formed in 1817, with no explanation as to why that name was selected. Do you know why?

@Bliss and here's something you'll find interesting: Seneca Oil Springs in cuba NY
The spring is located near the spillway end of Cuba Lake on the Oil Spring Indian Reservation. This is the site of the famed spring described by the Franciscan Missionary Joseph DeLa Roch D'Allion in 1627, the first recorded mention of oil on the North American Continent.
