Joan Meyer, 98-year-old co-owner of Marion Country Record, collapsed and died one day after the "illegal police raids" on her home and her newspaper's office.
Many Legal experts have voiced their opinion, labeling the raids as "illegal'.
@NorCalCherylLyn Agreed! But the sheriff was attempting to interfere with the paper's investigation
Let's all keep visiting their website to support them and ensure the police in this red state are held accountable.
@Bliss going to their site now!
@Bliss I am so livid about this.
@AskTheDevil i am too. It's the reason i posted it. If we continue to keep visiting their website, to support the, it woll keep the story in the spotlight and the small town sheriff and his deputies will eventually come under the scrutiny they deserve.
@Bliss Well this has hit the mainstream news, so hopefully that will shine a spotlight.
@Bliss
We can never again say things like this will never happen in America because it just did!
This is so tragic. I am hoping those responsible are held accountable
@Bliss I believe we are now in manslaughter territory and even possibly murder in the second degree. Why raid her home at all? I'm #NotALawyer but this whole situation stinks.
@danielbsmith probably an intimidation tactic.
@Bliss That lead to her death. If this was North Carolina, that would be grounds for a second degree murder charge I think. Murder charges vary somewhat between states and I'm unaware what the equivalent would be in her state.
@danielbsmith i hope DoJ indicts them all!
@Bliss that’s terrible! The raid should never have happened.
