@0x56 😆
@0x56 remember the days before PIC? It's like the days before a la carte streaming... 😂
@0x56 when I first entered the PhD program at my alma mater, I was looking to make life better for system administrators. My advisor proposed that I start from the premise of "You have 64 twisty little machines, all different" and go from there.
@0x56 at the risk of pissing you off...
is that b/c it's been working fine for 25 years?
@rpardee - that's a partial reason.
The other part of it is because source code was lost and we can't upgrade it.
@0x56 oof. that does sound not-tenable then.
Any chance of decompiling binaries to recover the code?
@0x56 @hallmarc this led me to google the difference--sounds like the nomenclature is similar to powershell. plain .Net is a windows-only experience but ".net core" is their effort to bring .net cross-platform.
or so says https://radixweb.com/blog/net-core-vs-net-framework anyway...
@0x56
And totally blowup the timing delays that have inadvertently been created and coded to expect in some other completely not associated different process.
@0x56
How is this for a wth.
Replaced a dual 1GB Ethernet in a SQL host with a dual 10GB.
And they complained because all their stored procedures had been based upon the old load times.
Welcome to technology people, adapt or die.
