All done! Roof, purlins, rafters and trim. Tomorrow the real work starts as I move a huge pile of wood into neat stacks.

Good morning CoSo...

I was 5th in line at my town voting station this morning. The line was up to 75 or so by the time the doors opened at eight (it's a small town; only a few thousand). The energy was good. Maine, oddly, uses ranked-choice voting, but only for federal elections. So, while the governor was a pick-one situation, I had to rank the congressional candidates.

What am I building? Any guesses?

Progress! I should finish tomorrow, weather permitting. This will be a small part of my effort to make a net zero home out of a 1996 cape we bought last summer.

My next project has begun... This one is related to some tree removal I did last year to clear a solar corridor our electricity generation. More as it develops!

Beautiful 7:30 AM run with the Coastal Pacers. I only ran 2.2 miles today, but it was through a local nature conservancy area... old trees, leaves everywhere... fantastic.

I made drawer pulls out of Oyster shells. I live in an area where oysters are a big part of the local economy. So we eat lots of oysters.

Good morning CoSo. I put up a solar array, and we turned it on for the first time yesterday around 10:30 AM. In the six hours it was getting sunlight it met my house's needs, for the day, the following night with extra cached in battery or on grid. Looking forward to my first full day of energy independence! #greenenergy #climatechange
