You can edit your profile, and select something called Ostrich mode. I understand that suppresses a lot of the activity. But since you are new, I might suggest that you keep it on as it will help you gauge the temperament of those around you, and help you identify your people. Folks can be quite kind and helpful here.

@haikushack I download the GIFs from a source, and save them to my computer. I upload them to message just like I do a jpg or a png. Make sure the saved file has a .gif suffix.
