The end result should look roughly like this. It will have built in shelving. The switch will be moved to the side of the chase and will be easily access by the entry door. An air return grate will be added to the top (mostly hidden) face of the shelving, and the plug relocated to the new surface. I've not done full face dry-walling before, so that will be an adventure. I'd like to get some lighting fixture up on this wall also, as it sit beside my desktop.

The next / project that arose from the installation is related to this one I posted 6 weeks ago. <counter.social/@wyrmeboi/10938>. The ductwork there ran from the basement through a first floor office space. It currently looks like this. I will build a chase frame around it, move a switch, outlet, and extend the air return from the office.

@maartenvda How very Dutch! I wonder whether the lines of folks waiting for checkout get chatty also? I would imagine so?

@researchbuzz Sounds great! Except that the next war won't be fought over energy. It will be fought over water.

Grid-scale (discussed herein) requires very deep drilling to access radiant heat from the mantle. Home geothermal (or ) uses solar energy stored in shallow earth (10-1000 feet). <politico.com/news/2023/01/01/r>

@Geekgirlforever Watched it last night with my 13 yo. He loved it. Incidentally, when it was released it was rated R. Lame-ass conservatives rating movies...

@Myriacanth @amgoth2000 That kind if intervention simply won't work. It's all about policy at this point. Either the world comes together to face this man-made crisis, or life on this planet is done. It really is as simple at that.

@Ambrosius Climate change is going to create hell on Earth over the next century: Agriculture will collapse leading to widespread food insecurity, biodiversity will be devastated, wild fires, drought, ultra-high impact storms, new disease, and other calamities. Pile on water warfare, mass migration from unlivable heat & invasive water, and secondary human effects like the collapse of both the insurance industry and global trade markets, and you see a future that is more Mad Max than Mad Money.

@IrisDallen @TrueBloodNet I will advocate for the Clean Air Task Force. Check them out. They are focused on beltway lobbying for , and while you can support birds or bees, dollar-for-dollar the best investment in change is policy.

House just went thumbs up on the Omnibus Bill. 9% bump in investments in and other areas!

@Social_Moi Overnight lows from Northern Alberta... not wind chill values, AFAIK.

@TXPamInOH Dunno, but can you imagine how cold Winnipeg or Edmonton must be today?

@BenA This is looking quite serious. At this point, I think it's fair to raise the question: Is this guy even a legitimate American? He might be a foreign spy planted in congress for all that we can tell.
