An old SNL copycat show once did a skit where the Reagan campaign workers left pods in people's houses as gifts after being politely told there was no way they would support him, and then when they returned, the robot-like people were spouting his talking points. That was exactly like what happened to my Dad.
@AlphaCentauri I hear you! That's basically what happened to my dad, with Fox. It took his negative political inclinations & amped them 50 degrees 😝 We do fine, as long as I refrain from trying to persuade him otherwise.
@wenx @AlphaCentauri my mother in law got drawn into the fox news crazy town world too. We try not to talk politics. Last time we did, she didn't speak to me for six months.
@SimplyZippy @AlphaCentauri I'm sorry that both of you have experienced it 🙁 I think maybe my dad realized how destructive it could be after I got frustrated & left the room the other night.
Hopefully one day this partisan divide will shrink, & people will be able to discuss ideas and work together again 🤞

So sorry to hear that.
I miss my Dad, but I'm not sorry I don't have to worry about whether he would have supported Trump or not. He was one of those guys who went from deriding voodoo economic to supporting Reagan as soon as he was the GOP candidate.
