I also understand some of the other new people may not really grok that yet, even when told there's no algorithm. The Algorithm doesn't just exist in the bird app. Social media has just been getting us used to "engage properly in order to be seen".

Some people don't know any other way. By the time they got on IG or Twitter that was already how it was.

I'm doing CoSo (CoSoing?) on mobile, so things like pinning columns aren't happening for me. And I'm actually good with that. I like hanging out in the firehose, then checking my mentions and people I follow now and then.

I love just being able to interact and not having to worry about doing it in a way that will play The Algorithm in my favor. 'Cause...no algorithm!

Tips for the Neuro-kin and fellows:
If you are having sight issues with the website on a browser, there is Darkreader.org which will allow you to adjust the viewing settings for your sight needs.
If you have issues keeping up with reading on here, dyslexic/dyscalcula, enable PreCog, it's amazing for reading and reading comprehension.
Last but not least, Ostrich Mode is great for clearing up the clutter on the screen with all the tickers, trackers, and audio feeds. It's a lot more orderly.

Screw discounted sporting event tickets, food discounts (gee, could ya spare it?) and other 'feel-good' nonsense coming from corporations. You people want to help? Fine, here's what we veterans need:

- Suicide prevention care
- Educational programs at reduced or no cost
- Jobs
- Job training
- Housing
- Help with utilities
- Help with groceries

Don't make us your 'flavour of the month' and use us to salve your miserable consciences. Did you know 20 veterans every single day commit suicide?

Laid down the first layer of colors on the neurographic art. Nothing to show yet. But...

I have never used Derwent ChromaColor pencils before. Oh my noodles! Thet just glide on the paper! So smooth!

Someone called us the PBS of social media. I think that's an apt description.

"CounterSocial is made possible by users like you."

The lines are done now. I still think this looks weird. We'll see what happens as color is added.

Experimenting with neurographic art. I don't know how it will turn out, but it supposedly won't just be scribbles.

I don't know how it's supposed to work, or anything. But maybe just not enough people would be willing to leave Jack's old thing for Jack's new thing. But maybe if you destroy the old thing, send people scattering, and then promise them they can all be brought back together by the new thing?

I don't know. Like I said, I haven't seriously thought it out. I don't know enough to be able to.

And there's all that stuff about Jack kind of guiding Musk through the whole thing, and Jack still having a good chunk of his shares...

And Jack is supposed to be working on Blue Sky, a supposedly all-in-one social media platform.

Part of me wonders if maybe Musk isn't supposed to destroy Twitter. Like, maybe Blue Sky wouldn't really have any chance as long as Twitter is what it has been.

And his reply had something to do with how Twitter would cut years - I want to say he said it would be something like 10 years - off of plans for "X", which is supposed to be some kind of all-in-one social media platform.

The guy asking was kind of like (paraphrasing), "I don't think it would cut THAT many years off, but you know what you're doing better than I do."

And then you look at how Jack says he only really trusts Musk to save things there.

- This isn't any kind of seriously thought out thing, just some ideas that have been floating in my mind.

I think it was a few days before carried the sink into the office... I saw one of his fanboys asking why he was even going to make changes to Twitter. Why not buy it, shut it down, and replace it with something he built because they were sure he could do better in less time?

For the first time ever, a trans man has been elected to a state legislature. Congratulations to James Roesener from New Hampshire. Representation is important, we need more LGBTQIA folks to enter into politics and chart a new path for this country. :transpride:

In case you missed it, I did tell the pirate story with my new cards! And if you have a deck of playing cards nearby, you can grab them and follow along. And then you can tell the pirate story!

I definitely have a fever. Apparently, I think it's a good idea to read Alan Moore and Phil Hine when I have a fever. I read them when I don't have a fever, too, but this is...well, it's something.

Glad I'm ahead on my writing. I can be sick for a few days and will still likely finish. I'm at 22,300+ words.

Finished filling in that doodle page from last night.

I'm trying to not make everything I draw have be a "thing". Just see where ink and paint take me when I open the space sometimes.

Both of my sisters-in-law have been sick since yesterday and tested positive for today. Every time I've been exposed I've had a major seizure a week or two later. So we have to watch me this month.

I didn't know when things would be back up, and I still needed to get a Substack post out this week. The pirate story is now there.

If you have a deck of playing cards, don't just trust me on this! Grab your cards and follow the story!

CounterSocial is the first Social Network Platform to take a zero-tolerance stance to hostile nations, bot accounts and trolls who are weaponizing OUR social media platforms and freedoms to engage in influence operations against us. And we're here to counter it.
