Thorin Oakenshield & Company - Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold 🏔️🎼
@TheComicHunter Yeah, my memory is near perfect for biographical recall. (That's what the doctor said.) So I can still tell you what I wore to school on the last day of third grade. But give me instructions with more than 2 steps? Hold on. I gotta write this down.
And that confuses people. "But you remember everything!" Nope. Only a certain type of things.
@Becca5620 I finished sooner this year than I usually do. I'm usually furiously trying to get a couple thousand more words out on the last day of the month.
Next year, you can do it! It doesn't have to be good. It's just ignoring that inner editor and writing WHATEVER.
I did it! 50,145 words! #NaNoWriMo
I'm so close! Just gotta keep writing! #NaNoWriMo
( I whole heartily agree with this.)
How to Weave the Artisan Web
Everyone should start blogging again. Own your own site. Visit all your friends' sites. Bring back the artisan, hand-crafted Web. Sure, it's a little more work, but it's worth it. You don't even need to stop using social media! It's a "yes, and" situation, not a "no, but" one.

I'm not a fan of #Thanksgiving as a holiday, but I think it's always a good time to stop and look at what one has to be thankful for. One of the things I'm thankful for this year is that I took that chance and came over here. I'm thankful for this community. I'm thankful that "community" means something here. 💜

@MrGoat @th3j35t3r Two questions automatically pop up in my mind.
1. What is he DOING with the dirt?
2. Is it helpful if it's graveyard dirt?
@XaoslordErie That is one of my favorite stories to use as a life lesson.
@librarianjenne I wrote something with an example of how I do dice readings. Dice are pretty clear, and my family thinks it's hilarious that mine tell me everything I don't want to hear.
Trying to be a little less shy about #SelfPromotion . Embracing the idea that #divination is really where my passion is and what I want to be serious in writing about.
So... I write a weekly substack about divination. It's currently focused on how to build a set for charm casting. I put up a new post today. It tells the story behind the piece, which is about the kindness of a stranger.
@TubunMuzuru Yeah... I think that's what I've always done with my writing. I let my people pleasing habits become an obstacle.
@feloneouscat @RedKing Friend, I am originally from Texas. I know how Texans yell, "Do it!" to each other whether it's a good idea or not. We just want to be able to say we know the person who did it. 😄
@RedKing Because I can get people excited about fiction, but I have a lot more trouble getting people to care when it's about my interests. But I think maybe I really want to be writing a book about divination. Specifically using playing cards and gaming dice.
I may have been trying to write the wrong book all this time? This isn't me looking at my #NaNoWriMo project too seriously too early. It's something I think that project is leading me to understand about what I was working on before.
I might have more passion about a completely different thing? I might want to write something I don't actually think I can get people to read? I'm thinking in questions?

@Jule_B I am mildly bothered by how he keeps using phrases that imply Twitter is a living entity. I mean...okay, yeah. That's a valid thing to a point, especially with social groups. But he keeps talking about it like it has nutritional needs and is breathing!
