My Bicycle deck of Cypher cards got here just as we were coming down with covid, and recovering has been a lot of spending what energy we have on keeping the house together.
I'm FINALLY getting familiar with the cards! This may be my new main deck for things.

@WILDKATZ @spacesloth @MrGoat This is going to change how we understand cats in boxes.
@th3j35t3r Are you sure you're unkind, or did you maybe just hear some things about somebody else hearing some things about how maybe you might be some kind of unkind in some ways?
@carver_hudson That might explain for me why my Yankee sister-in-law uses baked beans in chili, which makes it weird to me.
The "no beans in TRUE Texas chili" thing seems to be a lot like Yankees who take pride in telling us they know what "bless yer heart" REALLY means. They aren't exactly wrong...but it's not that simple.
Chili con carne doesn't have beans. That's a TexMex thing, not just "Texas chili". Many types of chili have different types of beans. Family recipes for chili are sacred.
My MIL is in her 80s, and I’m so damned proud of her little church, and their outreach programs.
They’ve been doing outreach to teach their congregants about current LGBTQ+ definitions, issues, rights, and potential missteps.
In addition they go to public spaces to promote their inclusivity. This in a small, predominantly ‘red’ agricultural town. She’s surprisingly well informed!

@nopuppet_007 This is why I don't completely buy, "It was a different time..." Yes, social standards have great influence. But we've always had elders who have embraced and driven change. Thank you for sharing her blessings with us. 💜
@th3j35t3r No, I've cleaned up dogshit. None of us can clean up whatever that has become.
@carver_hudson We always put beans and meat in chili. I don't think I've ever had chili without beans. I left 7 years ago. Did they change the recipe?
It didn't go up when I wanted it to go up. It didn't go up how I wanted it to go up. But I do not live in a Hallmark Christmas Special, and there's a big gap between "good" and "perfect".
This is good.

@freddyvandam I honestly thought yesterday, "If there's a 'no tracking accounts' rule, that should go over great with NORAD soon." And then I chuckled, because who the hell would do that?
Sorry I asked. Now we know.
@PaganMother Oh no! I've been in an arthritis flare-up that caused me to twist my ankle last night. My back would give your back a high five and cheer that we can do this, but....well, that might hurt our backs.
I know my arthritis will ease up in spring. I hope you get relief sooner, and a no serious lasting effects.
@BrianHjelleVirologist Well, I mean... I was in the Chess Club, the Science Club, and I was the Secretary one year and President two years of the History Club.
So I'm pretty sure I WAS one of the Cool Kids.
@Oma_Trisha Oh, thank you! I was thinking of this song a few weeks ago and wanted to look it up, but I couldn't remember who it was by.
I think the only times I ever saw my dad really "chill" to music were when Three Dog Night was on the radio.
@DarkeConteur I end up writing a lot of half stories because I get something like the opposite of writer's block. I get going deep enough into a project that more ideas are spawning than I can use, but I don't want to lose them! So I make notes. But then the notes start fleshing out. One project becomes four projects.
