Just found this video on the #Obama presidential library web site showing Elon Musk giving the president a tour of #SpaceX Launch Complex 40 on April 15, 2010.
I've seen plenty still photos, but this video was released in response to a FOIA request.
For those who think Elon has turned fascist, 13 years ago he was Obama's best pal.
@WordsmithFL Elon divides his time between trying to save humanity and the planet (Tesla, SpaceX), and trying to destroy America and worldwide democracy.
@walterbays I really wonder what happened to him. I used to joke to my SpaceX friends to let us know when Elon started growing out his fingernails like Howard Hughes so we could put him in the straightjacket.
In that video, he's almost grovelling in front of Obama when they meet. You can tell he's very nervous.
History is littered with great minds that snapped -- Tesla, Hughes, Musk, and many more. It's sad to watch.
@WordsmithFL It's possible he couldn't cope with his child's independence and came to hate the progressive policies that gave her a choice. This was in the middle of his Twitter takeover as he went from being supportive of trans people to hating pronouns.

@Cosmichomicide @WordsmithFL It does seem more likely that his chaotic mental state caused his child's identity question to become a crisis, than that his child's crisis caused his chaotic mental state. Maybe one day a documentary will tell the tale. Or tell a tale.
Either way, none of my business. I just like Tesla and SpaceX, hate Twitter, and am ambivalent about the Boring Company.

He's always been an empty hoodie with a full wallet - he's been bounced as CEO more than once and both Tesla and DOD have Squirrel Whisperers to deal with his Muskiness.
He's John McAfee without the genius. I see a Spanish jail and a dramatic schockcumentary in his future.
