@Charles_Hawtrey So you're in Miraflores? What a beautiful area! And yes you must visit Larco, one of the best museums in the world. And for every artifact on display they seem to have 20 others in storage as you can see because the public can view the storage shelves. The curators must have a herculean job deciding what items to bring out for display. Informative placards are in Spanish and English.
No we're in Pueblo Libre, I too thought it would be near Larco Mar in Miraflores, but my wife said it's here in Pueblo Libre.
@Charles_Hawtrey Oh, I see that's more in the middle of all the shops, restaurants, attractions, and transit. Rather than perched on the edge of the cliff.
@walterbays Lima is huge, in light traffic it takes about twenty minutes for us to get to Miraflores. Pueblo Libre is one of the older sections, it's not touristy here, there are districts that take 40 minutes or more to get to in light traffic.
@Charles_Hawtrey Yes I got my drinks confused. I had a fair number of pisco sours, and tasted chicha once. I did want to mention that possibility here, as I came away from that chilling artifact certain it had been used for drinking the blood of human sacrifices, but cannot now find substantiation for that being the only use.
Chicha is very common here and is the stock drink in most of the cheaper restaurants, it grew on me like other things did here.
@Charles_Hawtrey Nearby Larco see
Museo de Arte Contemporáneo. It's small with well chosen traveling exhibitions.
@walterbays Chicha isn't liquor, it's just a sweet drink made of corn, you may be thinking of Pisco? That's brandy though.
It's funny we live about ten blocks from the Larco museum/restaurant and have never been there, will have to rectify that soon.
