#CoSo #beer question of the day - does it matter who pours your beer at a festival?
Does it matter if the owner or head brewer/brewmaster pours your beer at a festival?
Context:
Over the weekend, as part of researching an article, we attended this year's #FirestoneWalkerBrewing Invitational in #PasoRobles #California.
The requirement is a brewer, and/or owner has to serve the beer. And that beer or those beers must be their best.
Does this matter to you?
@beer no, but that's a unique approach. For a smaller event I could see this working, but a larger one, I don't think it's feasible.
In 2 weeks we have GABS, the big beer fest down here in Aus, and its a mix. Some stalls the brewer is there, but all the "brewed for GABS" beers are poured by random festival staff at the big line of taps.
@beer With GABS, there's the festival beers (brewed especially for for the fest, around 120). These are poured by festival staff from big tap lines. Then breweries will have their own stands, where sometimes the headbrewer is there, but mostly it's brewery staff. Some stands will also be pouring their festival beer, so there's the opportunity to discuss it.
Weihenstephan is attending this year!
@vozoto Way cool!
