Ever get a group of songs stuck on repeat in your head, all at the same time?
Picture this:
1. Teach several pieces to students over a period of several days/weeks.
2. Perform with and/or conduct said students in a concert of these pieces.
3. Also be the recording engineer for the concert, and dive into post work on the recording immediately after getting home.
Right now 8 pieces of choral music are having a cage match in my brain.
@voltronic drown them out with jazz 😂
@PhiladociousRex
Oh no, then I'll have to start analyzing the jazz at the same time.
@voltronic death metal then! 😅
@PhiladociousRex
I'd probably put on some Tool and have too much fun counting the changing meters.
Death metal isn't music; it's screaming or demonic grumbling over continuous noise.
@voltronic yeah, but you're brain would probably prefer the silence after it was over!
@voltronic Amen to Tool though, I used to fall asleep to 46 and 2 on repeat in college.
I always stomp around singing the French national anthem in really bad French, at least the words I still remember, and ba da ba da da the rest. It will extinguish any other musical hamsters stuck on the running wheel pretty quickly.
"...le jour de gloire est arrivee!..."
@voltronic
Not in the same context but oh I can relate. When I had to manage multiple aspects of projects for multiple clients all with the same deadlines my thoughts on all that entailed were on continuous repeat. Ugh. And it’s nearly impossible to avoid!
Anyone interested in doing music collab stuff?
I'm rubbish at lyrics and I have nowhere to record any vocials atm but I think I'm sort've okay at composition and recording instrumental stuff. Mostly with a sort've vaguely 70's bluesy bar-room vibe, if bars could afford Hammonds. Also I'm shit at deadlines, so... hit me😜 up if you're in that narrow field and aren't in a rush!
^ FTR, this is my usual concert season brain. I'm just not used to doing it in the summer as well.
