Summarizing...

A helicopter carrying the President of Iran and the Foreign Minister of Iran has crashed and has been missing for at least 8hrs.

Crash took place in the mountains near the Azeri border.

Rain, fog, night time, cold weather, and mountainous terrain all making search and rescue very difficult.

Iranian news reporting (for the 3rd or 4th time) that the crash site has been located.

Iranian television stops broadcasting and broadcasts the Holy Qur’an in preparation for an important announcement against the backdrop of the president’s plane accident.

There are reports of fireworks in celebration in Tehran and other Iranian cities.

Those are unconfirmed (at least 1 video was dated several years ago).

There are also reports of IRGC teams flooding the streets of Tehran and other Iranian cities.

Those are confirmed.

10hrs since the crash was first reported.

Iranian search and rescue saying at least another 3hrs to reach the crash site.

=

I'm not certain they even know where the crash site is yet.

I am certain that it's very unlikely that there are any survivors.

Also still not seeing any word about the other two Bell 212 choppers that were supposedly part of that flight.

Turkey has launched a recon drone to aid in the search.

Russia is sending two plane loads of mountain search and rescue teams and several helicopters.

@Render I’d love to see Israel launch rockets at that mountainside 😆

Honestly my first thought when this news broke was Mossad, but I really don't think they would do something so out in the open. Downing aircraft is more Russia's style.

@Render
If those two individuals are in fact dead. I wonder if it will have any long-term impacts on the Gaza war.
