Not many people will remember the 2006 Lebanon Red Cross Ambulance incident.
That's probably because the media really doesn't want anybody to know it even happened, much less what really happened.
I was a regular on both the blogs Little Green Footballs and The Jawa Report at the time. As was the author of the following report. Despite my nic not appearing in the post my info is all over it.
It's a bit of a long read, so if you choose to do so set aside a bit of time.
I bring it up for two reasons.
1: To show that there is a long history of Israel's enemies faking war crimes accusations against Israel.
2: That there is a long history of major media believing and aiding in those hoaxes.
Including one Martin Chulov. Currently employed by The Guardian, he was working for Australia's The Age in 2006.
Given how badly he got wrecked by Zombietime it's a wonder he's still employed as a journalist at all.

So is the thinking that IDF did in fact hit the convoy because it appeared that those vehicles were no longer carrying WCK personnel?
Or is there not even enough info to speculate?
IDF says it saw (via drone) 1 gunman enter one of the 3 convoy vehicles shortly after the 1st checkpoint and prior to the warehouses. And what it thought was a 2nd gunman enter one of the vehicles at the warehouse.
It also saw 2 vehicles leave that warehouse heading for a Hamas warehouse just north, and then a 3 vehicle convoy leave the warehouse heading west back to the coast road. The 3 car convoy then turned south of the coast road, instead of north back to the WCK HQ.

Everything after that is a tragedy of miscommunications, failure to follow standing orders, and stupidity, compressed into a short time frame.
That led to 7 dead and 2 fired IDF commanding officers.
Fired in IDF terms means they weren't just relived of their duties, they lost their pensions as well.

Only that the convoy took a wrong turn after leaving the drop off warehouse site, heading directly for the IDF positions, at high speed.
