My new (to me) ThinkPad T480S just arrived, and I've been setting it up. I'm very pleasantly surprised that for a refurb, it appears to be in brand new condition. I expect the battery may need to be replaced, but so far I'm impressed.

The only thing that I cannot get working right out of the gate is touchpad scrolling, despite it being enabled in the appropriate areas. Might be a driver issue. I have to leave for rehearsal tonight and I'll investigate it more tomorrow.

Oh and after updating the system and restarting, that now works fine. Man have I missed using ThinkPads! The keyboard, the quality!

Update: Battery is actually new!?!? I ran a battery report that said it had only been discharged 22 times. Initially I thought it was old because it completely up and died on me without warning yesterday, but then I found out that there was absolutely no power management enabled in Windows and it wasn't going into suspend when I closed the lid.

Reports of these coming with subpar displays are true, however. At some point I'll be replacing with a better panel.

@voltronic Maybe "only discharged 22 times" means it was almost always used plugged in.
