I have to share a really nice thing that happened to me. Last week was the spring concert for my student choir I direct. I was walking my choir to the stage, and a custodian who I had never seen in the building before came along side me and said, "Hey, Mr. [redacted], remember me?"
Turns out, he was a student in my high school #musictheory class about 12 or so years back. He's now a district custodian. We chatted for a bit, then I had to go conduct my concert.
The next morning...

@voltronic I meant, “ But WHAT is it?”
@kapturedphotos @voltronic
Incase you missed it... It's an Ocarina... 🙂
@voltronic ocarina!!
@voltronic you got an ocarina!
@voltronic omg thats frkn cool!!! ❤️
@voltronic I got one for my 26-year old son for Christmas last year. We’re both massive Zelda nerds and his jaw was agape when he opened it! And yeah his is totally playable as well.
@voltronic This reminds me of a quote from “ A Bowl of Saki” - The whole worlds treasure is too small a price to pay for a word that kindles the soul
...I had an email from him. He talked about how great it was to see me, and how much fun he had in theory class. He particularly remembered how one of his friends challenged me to identify and play all of the songs from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which of course I knew, being the nerd I am.
He then said I might not see him in the building again because he's only a sub custodian in the district right now, but if his 3D printer cooperated, I might find a gift on my desk the next day.
