@voltronic my main rig has a constant mirror on a separate HDD. My pictures auto back up to the cloud. I'm considering making an off-site backup too on a big HDD as a worst case scenario

That's all solid, but I encourage everyone to run optical disc backups as well. Nothing else is as stable long-term, as long as you use high quality HTL discs.
@voltronic oh yeah I agree, Its just somewhere to store them for me. Out of interest do you store your disks at home or off-site?
@voltronic there's only soich anyone can do, you do way more than most. I need to work out a can't lose, would be annoying if I lost but could cope and a "meh" list of files to at least prioritise backups
