@Beanc
This raises a good point about governors and mayors consenting to DHS or other federal officers coming in. Does their consent (or lack thereof) mean anything?

@voltronic @Beanc

I second this?

With all of the checks and balances in our government/constitution; it's disturbing that the protections tend to mean "Only when said protection works in my favor"

@voltronic @Beanc The city does not have to cooperate. It can sue. Additionally, 150 people in Chicago? Just a show. The distance between the "hot spots" in Chicago is miles. The protests are nowhere near the Federal building so they cannot do the chickenshit dive out and back in like Portland. By the way, Westside of Chicago goes on for miles.

@mhsheikh
Well @Render pointed out earlier that these forces have been largely a dog and pony show elsewhere. I agree that 150 additional officers in Chicago won't amount to anything that effective.

@Beanc

@voltronic surprise - they are now at 200 officers. I spent the last 17 years in the Chicago are prior to moving to Nevada.
