Think this through before dismissing it Ask yourself what police response times are where you live, and how police are likely to approach you. Contrast with someone living in a very different situation than your own.

@voltronic I live across the street from the police station. I've had to call the police on occasion for a multitude of issues... The response time, the lowest I've seen is an hour.

To the other point, although the police response has been unequivocally horrendous for my area, personally I don't feel I need an extreme weapon for defense. The most effective deterrent thus far has been installing cameras.

@voltronic however, please know that I also acknowledge that may not always be effective. Would I be opposed to a pistol, not necessarily, no. I also realize that my circumstances are not representative of others
