Oh, no question. Beginning recorder has the potential for maximum auditory damage. Overblowing is dangerously easy to do. It's like those audio weapons that cause temporary paralysis in Iron Man.
All of this unfettered hating on a perfectly good Baroque instrument is GIVING ME A BIG SAD.

I'm not hating on recorder as an instrument. I own two nice Yamaha models.
But, there's a reason I no longer teach it in my classes. My sanity and hearing.

i used to suggest that parents have their kids hold the recorder like a flute to reduce overblowing.
