I have a climate space at 11am est. People from 47 countries join to report what's happening. All continents excep Antarctica.
After a couple months on these calls I am telling you that Africans, Asians, and everyone impacted by climate and or colonization. Including indigenous people WANT RESTITUTION FOR THE DAMAGE.

TRUTH - there is a media blackout on climate. I'm here to say it's a lot fucking worse then the little bits that slip into the news.

Surprised. Don't be. We have mIltple ecosystems across the world that in complete collapse. It's not something that happens all at once... it's starts like this.

@Sr0bi my gut instinct is that ships engines are water cooled systems. How hot would the engine rooms get while travelling the equator zone, could a human routinely survive those temperatures for significant times without impacting health?

Also I'm working with some indigenous folk on how they are protecting themselves. (As we all should)
If they try and put indigenous back onto reservations, you will find me fighting in northern minesota. I'm so fucking serious about this.

Population displacements driven by famine and lack of water will lead to resource wars and societal collapse.
I see the move to authoritarianism as a response to the coming chaos -- control what you can and use the lifeboat paddles to keep "others" out of the lifeboat
If there's was a global socialist push to reorient our economies to sustainability we might make it

@BrentSullivan we know there will be death. Sorry to say the hyper consumerism/consumption under this capitalistic slavery is the problem with the billionaires too. I don't want to argue this but capitalism is the problem.
It's killing the planet
Long term we will not survive. We use 1.7 Earth's with of resources every year. But we have 80%of the tech to mitigate a lot. So I don't adopt a defeatist attitudes.

There's a windmill or two in need of well placed lances. I can take pride in the action while letting go of the outcome. It's the only way I know to remain same

Its important the right messaging gets out. The biggest problem when the publish there data, it's not comsumable/readable for most non science people. I working on that type of messaging
@ucantstop_me thank you. Messaging is where too many smart, well meaning people (Democrats I’m looking at you) undermine themselves. Just because they get it, and it is logical, science based, makes sense doesn’t mean the general population will understand. Covid communication for ex. Nearly 5 years later at I still see/hear opinions that are out of date (not including misinformation). Continued.

That includes how virulence and morbidity change with mutations, expectations for vaccine protection, mitigation for contracting or spreading Covid, mild or no symptoms can be clinically significant later, and so on.
Of course having the Trumpian minimization and spreading of malformation and misinformation echos still.
