^^^ another reason that played into my retirement decision is this ^^ I don't want anything (like work) interfering with the support my son needs.
He recently took up woodworking and loves it! Gives him satisfaction and pleasure (getting dopamine going again)
There are woodworking apprentice gigs here that teach everything and decent wage.
His plea date is June 6th. He will plead to 1 felony gun charge (the suppressor) this can be expunged in 5 years.

^^ 3/x when he pleads, there MAY be some days of jail but most don't think so. Jail is crowded. But my in is prepared to accept responsibility, whatever happens
IF he gets some days jail - we need some kind of situation/separation because the guy that kept my son doped up so he could commit retail crimes woth my car IS NOW IN THAT JAIL.
At least the light at end of tunnel is visible π§ββοΈππ
@ucantstop_me oh man that is quite a lot to deal with. Sending you & your son love & strength. β β€οΈ
@ucantstop_me sending you both some serenity.
Itβs a battle I know well, as an addict myself and sober young and as a supporter of addicted loved ones. Any way I could be of service, Iβm here
@Merlin thank you. I'm glad to know your initial battle is over? π
Yeah alcohol was first. We have even talked/discovered (and now processed) the initial circumstance of why he reached for alc. << very personal and painful but it's out in open now and the trauma of it has been processed and let go by both of us.
By processing I mean a mindful analysis of the details without jugdement. << that's the key to seeing clearly, acceptance and moving on.
He's been alc free 14 months - no interest π

Btw I'm open about this to inform others they are not alone if this happens in their family.
Hes in 15 mos of "drug court" to be completed in order to drop the drug charge.
He has to attend drug court 2 a month. Where you sit un court room. (Resources and social work is there) then watch person goes on witness stand and talks to and updates the judge (same judge in his case) w/drug test 2x week.
The charge of "gun with intent" was dropped. (This was an absurd charge)
