@Esther goodness yes. Moms on an oxygen machine. We have a generac whole home thing now. 6 hour fuel changes we killing my husband and I.

Exhausting! Glad you have a good system tho given how often this happens. We priced a unit that would tap into our natural gas line and would power the house - pricey so we’re sticking w our gasoline generator.

DTE's grid sucks. This was another shutdown for planned changes/repair
When they send me an immediate restore ETA I know it's some kind of repair work. (Or upgrading whatever)
About the generac. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate non stressful power outages. No fuel changes in the middle of the night.
There are a few caveats - I'll post the caveats in next post. These generacs are terribly expensive. I think ours was 12k to 13k. (I didn't have the $$ but mom did :)
