Erin McKean goes down a rabbit hole of WWII resistance diaries, “dipping into the thoughts of people who were also made heartsick and distressed by fascist politics”.

Throwback to a relevant cultural moment. So many people are sharing messages, mostly directed at queer and trans folks, to not kill yourself. That surviving, as yourself, is not only enough, it's revolutionary.

And it reminded me of Choose Life, in the 80s, at a time when the world looked dark.

The oppressors that want you to be a miserable wage slave and brainwash you into thinking that NOTHING is worth anything unless you SUCCEED at it are liars ...

EVERYTHING you do ... FOR YOU ... to move yourself forward in even a small way is important, powerful, and worth celebrating.

I'd like to join a conspiracy group that believes a shadow government of sane do-gooders will be feverishly unpulling levers!

I'm thinking of doing a big pot of my smoky maple baked beans for Thanksgiving.

I'd share the recipe, but it's very long. Not difficult, but several steps and quite time consuming.

Then a potato dish (something crispy like Pomme Anna or Fondant potatoes, rather than a mash), a squash dish, something with mushrooms, and stuffing.

Be mindful about how you talk to yourself and others, and don’t force toxic positivity. Sometimes, there isn’t a silver lining. For many of us, this isn’t surprising. This isn’t the first time we’ve been confronted with a sense of a lack of safety, or have felt the effects of hatred. When we try to soothe ourselves or others prematurely it's not helpful. Sometimes, it’s just shit, and that’s what this is. We can sit with that, hold that, and then turn to mobilizing and activism.

Cycles of structural violence are nothing new here on stolen land built upon by stolen lives. Indigenous and Black communities especially have resisted, fought back and created amazing systems of care for generations.

Your fear and overwhelm are real and valid. Be gentle with yourself. Surround yourself with chosen family and kin that honor your feelings and experiences. Create soft spaces for you and your community to grieve and tend to your hearts.

All our income is derived from on-line sales, and my views on Etsy are down 75%.

If you care to help out, it would only take a second if you would go to our Etsy store, FOLLOW our store, and FAVORITE an item.

Currently running 25% off, but if you FOLLOW and FAVORITE, I will give you another 10% if you want to buy something.

I won't send a message like this often, but if this seems spammy, I won't do it again at all. It IS a great deal, though 😉

Thank you.

"Many said they had expected a Trump win, and that the polls had never properly reflected the atmosphere on the streets. They had voted for Trump because they felt he would handle the economy and international geopolitics better than Harris would have done, and because they wanted a crackdown on illegal immigration."

Imagine a world in which the media reported the facts, explained the difference between truth and lies, gave context and did their fucking jobs

This one is about our natural inclination toward mutuality, and how it can manifest in the world.
