You cannot debate someone who refuses to acknowledge information not already part of their beliefs. It is literally a brick wall.
Productive debate comes when both parties listen and try to understand instead of "my view is correct." Turning debate into a contest I feel has ruined productive discourse...
@tyghebright @sentientdessert @Qbae because they're not debating in good faith. 'Debate' is just the framing they use to market their own beliefs.
@tyghebright @Qbae It's why they always try to talk to college students or younger... if they spoke to anyone that was an expert or had more life experience, they crumble.
And if you start making sense, they start going ad hominem or red herring.
