If you're tired of Stephen King, try some Adam Nevill.
"No One Gets Out Alive", "Last Days", and "Ritual" are all terrific.
I definitely enjoyed The Ritual movie. I have yet to read or watch No One Gets Out Alive--but now I definitely will.
A few plot details are VERY different in some ways than the book, but I don't believe that to be a detriment. What they did instead is MUCH cooler, cinematically.
(You can't do much on film with being trapped in a pitch-black room, after all.)
(Although the reveals at the ultimate climax in the book are just WILD. "He went and did WHAT!?")

Those were both good, but the three I mentioned have really stuck with me.
Also, they made good movies (while taking some plot liberties) out of "Ritual" and "No One Gets Out Alive".
