Chonky slipped out when I opened the door to grab a package. I nearly slammed the door on him.
He slipped through the fence to the dog run. I had to go around the building to get him. I grabbed him, and then immediately stepped in a hole, twisted my knees and an ankle, and fell down hard.
Chonky ran. Took me a minute to be able to stand. I limped around, couldn't find him.
He came back a few minutes later, but my ankle is hugely swollen and my knees are wobbly

Cats will be the death of me.

I'm a little better this morning. Left ankle is still pretty bad. Right foot, two toes are also sprained, but not as bad.
Walking is challenging, but I've figured out a sideways shuffle that's not manageable.
But I'm definitely not getting any housework done this weekend.

@tyghebright

Darn Tyghe that sounds very stressful and then very painful ☹️

@tyghebright Dammit! Hope not too much damage was done.
Meanwhile: RICE
Rest
Ice
Compression ( ace wrap)
Elevation
(Also a hug if you need one)

@KarenSohne

Got all those going on but the compression. Wonder if I can DoorDash an ace bandage this time of night.

@tyghebright l guess you could try ( from a woman who has never door dashed anything)
I’d use a scarf myself

@tyghebright OTC medicine you'll be sore tomorrow, ice bath (cool water will work for this about 10 minutes), compression sock for the ankle.

@tyghebright
Dang that sounds painful 😵‍💫
Hope you can take it easy for awhile prop it up and give it time to heal

@heatherdale

Good it happened on a Friday night. Means I have that option.

@tyghebright Ow. And if your knee isn’t stable, that’s double plus ungood.

@sfleetucker

Knee feels ok now.
For a heavy guy, I've got good knees.

@tyghebright @sfleetucker
I've noticed wild rabbits dig deep secret holes to have babies in. Did you step in such a hole?

@JanetZumba_FalPals @sfleetucker

It was the dog run, (just a grassy strip between buildings) so it was probably a divot made by dogs digging.

@tyghebright Sounds excruciating, dang cats! I hope you heal up quickly!

@guinnessphil

Yeah, Chonky Tonk. He was a feral tom and had fat cheeks when I adopted him. He's lost the cheeks and is now a little on the chonky side now, so the name still fits.

@tyghebright

Don't worry about the housework & rest up. Darn it chonky!
