Doctor was very good.

Indeed kind and informative. She was young which is a bonus because she wasn't about dismissing me AND she wanted to reach out to both my osteopath and my endocrinologist and discuss things with them.

She doesn't think the positive ANA is rheumatological but she does think its related to my thyroid and want to proceed with that given all my symptoms including pain, extreme fatigue, even the slow transit and GI issues.

She also addressed my neck and shoulder issues that I have been having OMT work on (which isn't working) and she wants to give me steroid injections to see if that helps me regain movement.

All of the EPIC doctors that I found in the past 3 years have all been YOUNG and FEMALE. This woman is also. Open, direct, INFORMATIVE ... she answered all of my questions (I ask a lot of questions), she was impressed - not angry, not intimidated, not annoyed - by the vast amount of data and knowledge I have on my own body, symptoms, and issues. She wasn't disrespectful towards me. She LISTENED, she asked me questions and WAITED to hear the ENTIRE answer before talking. It was a whole miracle.

A doctor who listens and doesn't rush you... and maybe even asks further questions... is practically a miracle.

@tyghebright I feel like the Universe is finally on my side ...

@thewebrecluse That is so awesome!! Most aren't in tune with their bodies. I always tell my doctor I only see her for a 2nd opinion. And also in case I need any conventional medicine to treat it. 😉
@tyghebright

@mistressticia @tyghebright same. Most doctors I have seen HATE that I know so much. It really just pisses them off. It's like they're insulted that you don't hang on their every word or need them for everything which I would think would be a GOOD THING???? 🤣

@thewebrecluse Right? My doctor actually appreciates it. Makes her job easier. Sounds like this doc might be the same way. Wish you lots of positive with this leg of your journey! 🖤 @tyghebright

@LindaGoodliffe @tyghebright This situation ... going to a specialist for the first time and actually having a positive and helpful experience ... has NEVER, EVER happened for me. Ever ... not in 40+ years. It simply NEVER happens. I'm shocked to be honest.

@thewebrecluse @LindaGoodliffe

I had a gyno who was like this. And frankly, found him just in time because when I got my hysto, they found a pencil point sized spot of cancer--a very fast moving type.

But the doctors I've found who are otherwise good, are always in a hurry because of the pressure to see more patients and increase profits.

@tyghebright @LindaGoodliffe Took me so long on the gyno front ... omg so long and I was in pain for years and years and years. I gave up looking for one because it was always such a horrible experience. I didn't find a good one until 2019 and got my hysto ... 20+ years of suffering and the cysts they found were large .....

It is so, so good you found one in time! ❤️

@thewebrecluse @LindaGoodliffe

There's a pervasive culture of dismissiveness that seems worse with gynecologist--including women--than with other doctors.

They always assumed I was exaggerating.

@thewebrecluse @tyghebright I’m so sorry you have gone through that. 💔🤬 But, I’m so glad you’re finally getting the help you need!!
