So, after all my babble about Persephone and Hades lately, I've been relying on my existing knowledge of the seasonal myth. But I started contemplating Persephone when I came home from the hospital last year, and there's been a lot of me poking fun at my own tendencies toward bad relationships through her, then the whole text fight thing where I drew Persephone, now she's exploded all over my art... So. I'm off to do an in depth dive of the myth. Might as well lean into the crazy.
@peeppeepcircus Omgs, Persephone is the maiden in the stone tower guarded by dragons!
"The goddess passed through the dark hall, and concealed her daughter well-secured in this hollow rock. Then she loosed the drakones (dragons) from the winged car; one she placed by the jutting rock on the right of the door, one on the left beside the stone-pointed barrier of the entry, to protect Persephoneia unseen. "
so badass.
and Drakones!
I love this website but i also gotta find an image of her mom Demeter and 2 Drakones coming to get her. More serpent like and with wings.
