I found antlions under my porch! A type of damselfly larvae that digs pits in sandy soil that ants fall into when they walk across it. I've noticed a lot of ant activity in my garden, it seems these guys have finally moved in to correct the imbalance :). I used to hunt these dudes and horny toads in the "badlands" of my youth, packed with cracked red clay and a few hardy species. These dudes thrive quite well.
I love being back at a computer where I can type out the alt thing.
@tippitiwichet Ever watch Enemy Mine? :)
@NoahPaulLeGies Nope, thank you for reminding me of one of the movie things that came out when I did none of the tv and movie things, I need to remember to keep my eye out for it. But tell you what, that face is eternal. I've seen it so many places. The creative types? We like to find the weird things and weave it into your culture when you aren't paying attention. It's fun. So much fun.
@NoahPaulLeGies I don't know why I want to reply with "awesome", given how my hunts for cool bugs has also resulted in odd nightmares where their sand traps are on my skin, why the fuck does your reply make me want to see the movie more? Sigh. I guess I just have to admit the adrenaline rush of terror is awesome. I'll move it to the top of the watchlist, thanks :)
