Joe is being scammed. He hired people to move 2 cars from NYC for him (he fixes them up to sell), they changed the contract after it was signed and added a $200 fee. They have been harassing him nonstop, threatening to do something to his cars if he doesn't pay them immediately, and threatening him legally. He went to the Better Business Bureau website and they have many complaints for the same thing. He sent them a screenshot. Now we wait.

@tippitiwichet What sucks is, BBB is not a govt agency, and just posts reviews basically...it's old-school yelp from before yelp existed
@Avidspark Right. But its something we can use when they threaten lawsuits, though I'm sure the threats are empty. Damn these people are working hard for $200. Thankfully they aren't the actual people driving the car, I'd be positive we'd never see them again. As it is, I'm still wary about that.
@Avidspark @tippitiwichet I wonder if your state Attorney General has a consumer protection division which might be helpful too?

AG's office can be a great resource
@tgraph52 @HopeSeeker @Avidspark Thank y'all. I mentioned it to Joe, we'll talk about it more when he finishes cleaning out the shed before dark. Scammer still won't shut up, is now going on about how he only gets $50 from this all, but he needs it to feed his family.
@tgraph52 @HopeSeeker @Avidspark Joe's cars were delivered. Looks like after he sent the screenshot of the BBB reviews, dude lost interest in continuing to harass us. All is well.
@tippitiwichet Thoughtful of you to share this!
PS, don't worry about any financial hits to us, it will only make it longer until we get a house, not impact our lifestyle.
