Thinking of all the recipies from the 50s with cream cheese, meat, fruit, and broccoli all in the same jello mold, and I'm wondering how their menfolk looked at the meal in front of them and saw the American dream and not a desperate cry for help. Also, probably lots of substances.
@tippitiwichet Mayo on most fruit tastes good. Fight me. (and tomato, tomato sandwich, mayo, salt, pepper, on Wonder bread, mmmm) Homegrown tomatoes had flavor.Lately tomatoes from grocery taste blah.
Miracle Whip tastes bad in any circumstance. Better a dry sandwich than Miracle.Whip.
@tippitiwichet Kinda want to try some of them. I mean it seems gross to us but it couldn't be that repulsive and that popular at the same time.
My mother made pear salad every holiday and I still love it. Others cock an eyebrow and pears with mayo and cheese on them.
Some of those weird 50s recipes taste good.
