I want to take a min to really fully acknowledge the influence of Grandpa in my life. Without his crazy genetics, all looking 50 when he was 70 until he got sick and actually looked 70, I wouldn't have the fun of quietly handing people my ID and waiting for their face when they do the math and realize I don't look like that. Without that influence, I would not be constantly bummed that I am not acknowledged as the emerging crone that I am. Damnit. I deserve that shit.
@Patti1120 There is nothing to express the feeling of seeing someone magically young at all times suddenly age when they get sick. It sucks, and sorry you had to see that, and also kudos for anything you may have felt when being ID'd for stuff you are legally entitled to, that shit is fun. It's a whole mixed feeling thing.
Likewise. My grandmother was questioned if she was eligible for city senior outing when she was 75.
